Excel IELTS Preparation Program

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is now more and more popular all over the world.Like TOEFL, IELTS is an English Proficiency Exam standard for either university entry or immigration purposes. It measures ability to communicate in English across all four language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. IELTS is also a very important English Proficiency Exams accepted by all government organizations for career licensing purposes.

Excel IELTS program is directed by famous IELTS specialist Ms. Dong Tang. Dong Tang has directed and taught IELTS / TOEFL programs for 3 different institutes. She has developed two sets of IELTS curriculum and training materials. Dong Tang has trained over 20 IELTS instructors locally in Vancouver, and she has successfully trained over 500 IELTS students to enter universities and/or to get immigration status. Excel provides the best full time and part time IELTS programs in Vancouver for all international students and new immigrants.

All students have the options to choose to be trained with North American style curriculum or European style curriculum or both. This mixed IELTS teaching system is very unique that allows our students broaden their English knowledge to achieve the better exam scores.

Full time program is 20 hours per week with 4 sessions (2.5 hour per session) in the mornings and 4 sessions in the afternoons.Part time program is 10 hours per week either 4 sessions in the mornings or 4 sessions in the afternoons.

The program runs regularly 12 weeks basis with 8 weeks and 4 weeks solution available. For those who is at their advances level already, a rather shorter term (1, 2, 3 weeks) solutions or even VIP individual one on one solution are also available based on Director approval. The classes start at 9:30am in the morning and 1:00pm in the afternoons. We provide twice per week one hour free English Workshops for those who need it.We also provide after class free tutoring services to assist students achieving their study goal.For those who like to enhance one specific English skill (i.e. English Speaking), extra material and independent instructions are always available as well.Our 100% English speaking policy, small class policy, and one to one follow-up policy ensure the excellent quality of our IELTS program.Excel is very proud of its great IELTS program!

IELTS Guarantee Class:

IELTS Guaranteed Class: Start from 10:00am to 5:00pm five days a week for 12 weeks with strong emphasis on both academic test preparation and real test skills. The class is divided into four sections: listening, speaking, reading and writing, and each day the students will study one section in detail. Students will also get a free vocabulary and grammar class once a week in order to improve their English level. Students will have a lot of chances to get personal evaluations and suggestions of their IELTS study from the instructor after class. In this class, students will be strongly engcouragned to come to school everyday, and they will be assigned a lot of extra practices based on their personal situations in order to improve their IELTS score as much as possible. Students will be allowed to free retake this class for one month if they do not achieve their target score. To take this class, students will be guaranteed to get a lot of special individual help from the instructor, and one-on-one teaching assistants are largely encouraged.

IELTS Advanced Class:

IELTS Advanced Class: Starts from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and students will get two free classes on Friday, which focus on IELTS vocabulary and grammar. This class, with clear clarifications between those four individual parts of IELTS test (listening, speaking, reading and writing), has strong emphasis on both higher-level test preparation and real test skills. In this class, the students will take one real IELTS practice test every two weeks, and the teacher will give students their personal evaluation individually after practice test. The morning class will train students how to take IELTS exam skillfully, and many test preparation strategy will be introduced. After taking this class for three months, students will be well prepared for the IELTS test in terms of the knowledge as well as test skills. At the end, almost all the students in this class could get their satisfying scores. At least, students will improve 1.0 in their IELTS score after studying for one cycle.

IELTS Intermediate Class:

IELTS Intermediate Class: Starts from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, and students are encouraged to take Friday's optional class for free. Intermediate class emphasises on the fundamental level IELTS test preparation and the purpose of this class is to improve student’s English level from an integral perspective. Specifically, the students will get a lot of listening, speaking, writing and reading practice everyday. The material used in this class is designed by our own program coordinator, ETS official developer Dong Tang. Beside our own special curriculum, we also use Cambridge Intermediate IELTS text book as implement material. Students will be encouraged to do a lot of excise after class and borrow study material from school's library in order to improve their English level in a very short time. Taking this class, students will have a good understanding of IELTS test, and their English will be boosted into a much higher level.

Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) measures the ability of non-native English-speaking people to use English in everyday work activities. The TOEIC was developed by the ETS (Educational Testing Service) in North America following a request from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry (MITI). There are an estimated 4.5 million test takers per year, making TOEIC the most-taken English test in the world.

The TOEIC test is a two-hour no-break multiple-choice test that consists of 200 questions divided into 100 questions each in listening comprehension (45minutes) and reading comprehension (75 minutes). Each candidate receives independent marks for written and oral comprehension on a scale from 5 to 495 points. The total score adds up to a scale from 10 and 990 points. The TOEIC certificate exists in five colours, corresponding to achieved results: orange (10-215), brown (220-465), green (470-725), blue (730-855) and gold (860-990). The test is a multiple-choice, paper-and-pencil assessment.

In many countries around the business world, most notably in Asia, TOEIC is the standard by which English is measured.

At Excel the TOEIC test is administered on Saturdays every 4 weeks from 11am to 1pm
