Excel Language Institute is located in the heart of beautiful Vancouver, a safe, warm, friendly city that combines historic charm with modern facilities. Whatever your interests, you can enjoy them in this exciting city.
Excel Language Institute offers students exceptional English language instruction and a complete Canadian cultural experience, both of which are enhanced by Exel's small class sizes, individually focused attention, and a warm, nurturing and friendly environment. Our school offers the intensive English courses to students whose native language is not English to prepare them for TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, LPI, and SAT.
Each program has 3-4 levels: beginner (basic), regular (intermediate) and advanced levels. The intermediate level is further divided into 2 parts: lower intermediate and higher intermediate. Excel beginner level of TOEIC is TOEIC Bridge Program, hosted by English / Japanese native speaking instructor Ann Ogawa.
Our 2 major instructors Dong Tang and Mark Dotto are also our Program Directors. They are the best in Vancouver with an excellent reputation in the Vancouver ESL industry. They are from different backgrounds with years of test preparation teaching experience. In the past 3 years, more than 500 students have received help from the primary instructors of Excel.
Class schedules at Excel are offered with flexibility. Not only are there classes from Monday through Friday, but also classes are offered evenings and weekends to meet the needs of students with busy schedules. Excel has a 100% English speaking policy and ensures over 75% instructors are native English speakers. Furthermore, Excel has an open-door policy in the sense that students can stay at school and use all school resources and reference books after class either studying themselves or as a group.
Excel wants to give its students every possible advantage, which is why students can take free workshops from Tuesday to Thursday every week. One of the very popular workshops is the English Grammar Workshop. This workshop is essential for students who need to improve their base grammar knowledge, or for those who just need to review before an official test. One major grammar topic is covered in each workshop. The teacher chooses one section from the TOEFL or IELTS every week. On Wednesdays, students are given listening scripts from the TOEIC and TOEFL. The instructor then leads them through a one-hour listening class. The workshop is from 4.15 pm - 5.15 pm. Students are given additional worksheets to complete for extra practice at home. In our reading room, computerized test preparation materials are free to all students doing exercises.
Monday afternoon between 4:15-5:45 is a free English Conversation Club held by a native speaker and is very popular among students. Excel's students have the opportunity to join several after school activities each month organized by our native speaking instructors, i.e. going to local Irish pub for a night, driving to Whistler with the teachers for a short trip, watching a hockey game with classmates and teachers, and getting together for a nice dinner at a teacher's home.... Excel does its best to help all students to get what they need and what they want. At Excel, students feel they are at home. They could even expect free English study counseling and free immigration and Visa counseling.
Excel loves its students. Students love Excel.
